Privacy, wherever history takes you.

Last updated October 14, 2026

This policy explains how 136 Media handles information in the ChronoGlobe Android app, on its pages at 136media.com, and when you contact us.

1. The app and local data

ChronoGlobe does not require an account. Selected countries, appearance settings, saved event snapshots, reminder preferences and notification prompt history are stored locally using Android DataStore. Bundled and cached historical events are stored in a local database. These country selections and saved events are not transmitted to 136 Media. When a selected country has no event for a date, the app may show an event from its region.

The current release uses a curated bundled dataset and does not request a remote event feed. The dataset covers a limited calendar window and is not a complete historical archive. Future versions may request updated event content from a hosted feed; such requests will not include selected countries, but the host may process technical information such as IP address.

Daily reminders are enabled by default at 9:00 AM local time when Android permits notifications. Android 13 and newer require permission, requested during first use. You can deny permission, change the reminder time or disable reminders in Settings. Reminders are scheduled locally; no reminder service or account is required.

If you share an event, Android passes the selected event's public text and source link to the app or service you choose. Your saved event list and other preferences are not included.

2. Advertising and privacy choices

ChronoGlobe includes Google AdMob. Ads support the app. Rewarded ads are offered to unlock This Week for the current app session, show another event from today's date, and retrieve an archive date. If an ad is unavailable, the app displays a warning and grants access anyway.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share IP address, device and advertising identifiers, app interactions and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention, subject to device settings and applicable consent choices. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure.

Version 1.0.8 and later use Google's User Messaging Platform, which checks consent requirements at launch and presents consent or opt-out forms when needed. When available for your region, Ad privacy choices in Settings and About lets you review or change those choices. Advertising initialization and requests wait until the SDK permits ads. Declining personalized advertising may still allow limited or non-personalized advertising. Notification permission is requested separately from advertising consent.

Clearing ChronoGlobe's local data resets locally stored preferences and consent information; it does not erase data already processed by Google or your chosen sharing destination.

3. Android backup and deletion

ChronoGlobe's backup rules exclude its DataStore preferences, shared preferences and event database from cloud backup and device transfer. Device and Android behavior can vary. To erase locally stored filters, saved events, reminders, consent information and cached content, use Android Settings → Apps → ChronoGlobe → Storage → Clear storage or Clear data. Menu names vary. Manage any earlier backups separately in Android or your backup provider's settings.

4. Support email

If you email Chronoglobe@136media.com, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer questions and investigate issues. Our email provider processes these messages to deliver and store them. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or unrelated personal information.

We retain support messages as needed to resolve requests, maintain relevant records, protect the service, or meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence at the same address, subject to any necessary retention.

5. This website

The ChronoGlobe pages at 136media.com do not require an account. Website hosting and security providers may process technical request data such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, timestamp, and security events to deliver and protect the site. Website logs are separate from data stored locally by the Android app. Hosting and security providers retain technical records according to their settings and policies.

6. Security and retention

The current app uses bundled historical content. Google states that the Mobile Ads SDK encrypts collected data in transit using TLS. Locally stored country selections, saved events, appearance and reminder preferences, consent information and cached events remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app, subject to the Android behavior described above. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Sharing and changes

App ad data is processed by Google AdMob and its partners. Website and email providers process information needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We will update this page and its date if the app or our practices change. For privacy requests, contact Chronoglobe@136media.com.
